Last year, CBC Radio 3 host Grant Lawrence joked that Immaculate Machine's penchant for foreign languages might result in their next disc being recorded in Chinese. It would seem this British Columbian trio never shies away from a challenge because they re-recorded "Dear Confessor" with Mandarin lyrics to spite him. "Wo Xiang Tanbai" ("I Want To Confess") is just as fun as the original, but the bonus of the hilarious back story definitely makes this seven-inch worth looking for. (It also comes with an adorable comic strip that explains the evolution of the song). Side A's "Won't Be Pretty" is a leftover track from their Fables full-length, but stands well as a single.
