Two Hours Traffic @ NXNE 2007

Live Review
NXNE 2007

Background/Composition: Partly discovered by their producer Joel Plaskett, Two Hours Traffic got their start in a chemistry class at the University Of PEI. They're smart enough to know the difference between Florence and Erlenmeyer flasks, but will they pass their exams at the School Of Rock?

Grade: 88

Comment: Even at 2 a.m. the Horseshoe was busy for the little island's biggest new sensation.

Strengths/Weaknesses/NextStep: The Two Hours Traffic stage show has a carefree attitude about it that borders on cockiness. These youngsters seemed more than a little sure of themselves, but when you've got the tunes to back up the attitude, you're allowed a little blithe indifference.

Strengths/Weaknesses/NextStep: Two Hours Traffic's pop was summery fun and it energized an increasingly sleepy crowd. They produce the kind of music that you'd expect to hear on mainstream radio, but only because of its insanely catchy hooks. Their sound had a distinct Maritime feel.
