Strengths/Weaknesses/NextStep: They blew through their set with plenty of metal god cockiness. It was a reminder of what a rock show once was — no emo whining, no fashionable posturing, just a bunch of sweaty guys in black t-shirts living out Led Zeppelin fantasies.

Strengths/Weaknesses/NextStep: This reporter had a sudden urge to go home and listen to Black Sabbath records. Pride Tiger are purveyors of wailed vocals and unfaltering energy. The frontman sings with his eyes squeezed shut, smiles a lot and looks like he's having a ball. He practically embodies the term "Giv'er."

Strengths/Weaknesses/NextStep: While it's trendy to lampoon metal these days, Pride Tiger were dead serious about obnoxiously loud thrashing and electrifying solos. They had an excellent command of the crowd, and a gaggle of girls were dancing near the stage in no time.
