Hometown: North Territory, Australia
Background/Composition: Australian didgeridoo, futurist, folk dance rock.
Grade: 90
Comment:This wasn't a BC hippie didgeridoo playing band, this is the real thing. A total of four didgeridoos attached together on a contraption with noise and effect machines, accompanied by super drums and vocals. The band mixed traditional Australian folk tunes with space dance rock.
Achievement of Rock 'n' Roll Expectations
80-100: Exceeds skill and knowledge expectations, i.e. rocked us so hard we peed our pants.
70-79: Achieves required skills and knowledge. Meets rock 'n' roll standard.
60-69: Demonstrates some skills. Approaches rock 'n' roll standard.
50-59: Demonstrates some required skills and knowledge in a limited way.
00-50: Has not demonstrated required skills or knowledge.
Learning Skills: E=Excellent, G=Good, S=Satisfactory, N=Sad Really
Oral And Visual Communication

Pronounciation: S
Stage Presence: E
Stage Banter: N

Appearance: E
Use OfStage: E
Strengths/Weaknesses/Next Step: Emdee consisted of a small drummer with a big mullet and an even bigger drum kit, a didgeridoo player that looked like he stepped right out of Battlestar Gallactica and a tiny blonde female vocalist who sang only a quarter of the tunes — the rest were instrumentals. Watching these guys was like nothing you've ever seen, it was a piece of Australian futurism as the drummer and didg player added theatrics to every song. The sound blew me away and when the vocalist came on stage to sing, she danced like everyone in the bar wished they could.

Sound: E
Composition: G
Songs: G
Strengths/Weaknesses/Next Step: Mixing the traditional with the future, Emdee's beats made my heart pump faster, there was even a 240 BPM song that made it seem like the El Mo was going to explode. The only down point of the performance was when vocalist, Shayote Carter joined in. She was really cute but added non-necessary vocals to the exciting hyper dance show. It sounded like cheesey vocals over drum n' bass of the mid '90s and stole the energy from the music. Otherwise, the band's future folk didgeridoo disco was astonishing.

Strengths/Weaknesses/Next Step: I wish I could stop writing about the damn didgeridoo but four of them combined with effects was truly heart stopping. Didge blower Mark Hoffmann and extreme drummer Lukas Bendel did have some hippie-ness to them as they played with bare feet, but they brought the audience back into the future when Hoffmann took one of the didgeridoos off his contraption and played it while dancing around the stage. Each didg had a microphone placed inside for ultimate sound and impact. These guys could be an opening act for any indie band and beat the crowd into a frenzy.
