Hometown: Brisbane, Australia
Background/Composition: Loud electric guitar band that play multi-vocal, no-excuses rock.
Grade: 65
Comment:Five member, legs apart, recognizable rock. This Aussie guitar outfit are like the No Frills of rock — good and reliable but not the freshest or the best.

Appearance: G
Use Of Stage: G
Strengths/Weaknesses/Next Step: The show started out with a huge build-up of anticipation thanks to the Apocalypse Now audio snippet being played before the band thrashed in. Unfortunately, they couldn't build up enough original sound or aggressiveness to match the intro. The Giants Of Science have clearly discovered the science of rock, but they have a long way to go if they want to stand out. There was some head-thrashing and guitar wanking, but nothing I've never seen before.

Audience Participation: N
Sound: G
Composition: S
Songs: S
Strengths/Weaknesses/Next Step: The drumming was good and interspersed with some powerful solo's. The heavy rock did feature some Soundgarden-esque head pounding riffs, but the band sounded dangerously close to a bar band at times. They did do an impressive cover of "Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves," (their current single Down Under) and confessed their love for power rock.

Strengths/Weaknesses/Next Step: If you were watching from the side of the stage before the show, you would have witnessed the band yelling and doing jumping jacks before they went on stage. If only they had included that in the performance.
