It’s blues that takes on the material of the Toxic Twins and damn it if doesn’t make ya wish Aerosmith would go back to their roots. Of the 13 tracks, it’s the legendary Otis Clay’s stab at one of Aerosmith’s cookie cutter tunes that takes the cake here. His tear-jerkin’ reading of “Cryin’” will make you pee your pants. Kim McFarland’s soulful “Dream On” and Tad Robinson’s breezy “Draw The Line” work like a charm, but avoid Lou Gramm and Sugar Blues’ trampling of “Back In The Saddle,” ‘cause it sounds like second-rate Bad Company. Aerosmith should definitely walk this way.
