The contributions on this soundtrack are both inspired and taken from the gruesome yet intelligent controversial drama series. There isn't any fake posturing or lightweight material here. If you were to add up the time that particular rappers on this disc spent behind bars then it would utterly surpass any strong career span they'd have in the business. I guess they know what it's like to be in the joint, so who better to write songs about the experience? Snoop Dogg and Drag On add their smooth and raw interpretations while other less inspired songs like Cypress Hill's "Can I Live" just force you to rather turn to watching the television show for more grittiness than this.
