It's no coincidence that Lighthouse opened for Pearl Jam. Vedderesque? Bien sur! But make no mistake, these young Americans have opted for the mellower side of the band, creating an album full of wistful ballads, er, songs. My unfortunate response to much of No Name Face was, "It sounds like Pearl Jam… Wait, there's some Live… Oh geez, didn't that sound like Matchbox Twenty?" Well, kiddies, it seems as though we've got another band following the crawling alternative rock highway. Perfect for those intimate back-seat moments, but retaining enough guitar that macho-types can convince themselves that they're not total wussies. A must-buy for the unadventurous.
