Poem is album number 11 for Delerium, who have sadly trodden the paved path. Still, exceptional sound and trademark Delerium layering keep this album from being too tiresome. With the exception of the borderline-breakbeat sound of "Innocente" (which incidently features Leigh Nash from Sixpence None The Richer), Delerium's latest album is so safe and utterly unoffensive that you could play it for your grandma's bridge club and not hear the sound of dentures hitting the floor. Oddly enough, this album sees the disappearance of co-founder Rhys Fulber (formerly of Front Line Assembly) and along with it any of his creative pioneering sound. Despite a number of desperate measure guest voices (including Matthew Sweet), you're left with a CD that amounts to the equivalent of the Harlequin romance for music fans.
