We have it — documented, incontrovertible proof that those boys from Guided By Voices drink something other than beer (as evidenced by the coffee and water bottles on the table). Taken in a back room at The Mike Bullard Show, this photo captures the band in a more reflective, sober moment.
For those who don't know (and you can hand in your indie rock badge now because you're a lightweight), GBV, led by former school teacher Bob Pollard, are know as much for their ability to drink irrational quantities of beer while onstage as they are for their jilted college rock.
They blanketed Toronto last week, performing a show, a meet 'n' greet and some TV in support of their fancy new record, Isolation Drills.
The band is featured in our fancy May 2001 issue, which is out soon. In the meantime, check out GBV's Rock Geek Elitist Quiz results
