PREMIERE: Old Man Canyon reflects on lost time with “Got You On A Ride”

For fans of Tame Impala, psychedelic synth-pop, general listlessness.

It's easy to get caught up in the routine of day-to-day monotony. When there's places to go, work to be done, and relationships to maintain, it can feel like you have no time to yourself. Maybe you don't have as much control as you once thought you did. Suddenly, you have a moment of realization: holy shit, my life is slipping away between my fingers. Where'd the time go? What can I do about it?

Old Man Canyon's "Got You On A Ride" is a song about that realization and the questions that follow. Washed in a sea of reverbed out synth chords, OMC's Jett Pace reflects on his lost time alongside a bright, gliding lead. "Here we are again, another year has come and gone," he sings. "Can't take a moment for yourself, always got something going on."

"Got You On A Ride" is a bonus track from the Vancouver alt-pop outfit's latest full length, Deliriumreleased on January 15th of this year. According to Pace, it's "a story of a man that has realized how his mind has been manipulated by the world around him, and that initial desire to escape from a society that only wishes to create a consumer out of him."
