Before The Unicorns broke up in 2004, they tended to perform a live cover of Daniel Johnson's "Rocketship." In anticipation of the band's reunion shows (one of which takes place this September at POP Montreal) and reissue of Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone?, a studio version of the track has been released. If it was recorded recently, it's especially exciting, because their off-kilter outsider pop is energized with something more than the glow of their past achievements. It might just be a track from the album's initial sessions, though, but that doesn't make it any less fun.

The Unicorns' reissue of Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone? is out August 26 via Caterpillar Records.
