Digits unveils wrecked new synth-pop track “When You Look Inside”

A new EP, plus a tour with St. Vincent and Dan Deacon.

One of the standouts from DigitsShake Your Body Down mixtape was "Lost Dream," a disco therapy session where the problems were just a bit too pervasive to be cured with dancing. On "When You Look Inside," the lead single from the Toronto sultan of synth's new EP The Day You Fight Back, the colourful keys are carrying more of the burden of Alt Altman's fatalistic lyrics than ever. From lines like "Be careful when you start to believe/because when you look inside, there'll be nothing," his reliably breathy voice here sounds like it's being sliced by the words as they leave his mouth. As bruised as it is, this is a Digits song: even if it's a husk of his former self, the starry sounds still goose it up.

Digits' new EP The Day You Fight Back is out June 10. Check out his Canadian tour dates with Dan Deacon and St. Vincent below.

05/29 Toronto, ON - Adelaide Hall *
