Listen: Gang Gang Dance reveal charity single “Upside Dawn”

Buy it, it's for CHARITY.

Gang Gang Dance have been dormant for a bit, though the band's Brian DeGraw released a fairly cracking album as bEEdEEgEE. But all together, the New York band recontextualize global pop tropes in the weirdest, goofiest parts of themselves like no other. I've missed and admired that. And speaking of admirable things, the band have recorded a new song for BOATS, a charity compilation album for low-income children in India. Each artist must incorporate samples from Light of Love Children’s Choir into their songs, which works well for Gang Gang Dance, who transform the already dreamy vocals into Balearic angel breath ensconced in a steady pulse.

BOATS is out now via Transgressive North. It features new tracks from Four Tet, No Age, Dan Deacon, A Sunny Day In Glasgow and more. Buy it here.
