Listen: Perfect Pussy release raging new single “Driver,” announce unsettlingly titled debut album Say Yes To Love

The Syracuse punk band are signed, still angry.

The title of Perfect Pussy's debut album for Captured Tracks, Say Yes To Love, is only a superficial turnaround from their breakout cassette release I have lost all desire for feeling: the Syracuse punk act haven't lost any of the venom that helped them define 2013.

An opening strip of hiss gives “Driver” the sensation of a field recording. Have we caught PP at an intimate moment? Of course we have. As with most of their tracks so far, it's personal to the point of almost feeling invasive. And so they hold nothing back, flipping the switch on turbine-level guitars that'll tilt you back on your heels, fuelled by the toxic goo of Meredith Graves' interpersonal calamity, so brutal it occasionally mutates her voice into the feedback staggering throughout the song. Perfect Pussy treat us like their therapists on every track, and by the end we're gossiping about them to other doctors.

Perfect Pussy's Say Yes To Love is out March 18th on Captured Tracks: pre-order it here. You can read our 2013 Year In Review post on the band too.
