Listen: Isaiah Rashad pays homage to Master P’s brother on “RIP Kevin Miller”

New jams for No Limit fans.

Isaiah Rashad borrows a hook from Master P on his new track “RIP Kevin Miller,” the title an homage to P's fallen brother. But the TDE rapper's beat (Black Metaphor's handiwork) is all silk-lined piano chords EQ'd under big, subby drums, the kind of track made for Section.80-era Kendrick Lamar (or even a certain rival?) And like K-Dot, Rashad has fun flexing on this drive-slow anthem with a cadence that jumps between Pac on the hook and a gravelly Jeezy at the end. Don't let the tone confuse you, though: just because he's taking it easy doesn't mean his guard's down.
