[listen] Whirr, “Swoon”

Hear a new track of post-rock tinged shoegaze.

Being that I'm on a huge Jesu tip at the moment and have a deep abiding love for My Bloody Valentine, Whirr's wailing new song “Swoon” suits me just fine right now. It's going for a specific feeling only shoegaze can capture using post-rock and metal as its accompanying tool-belt. So when you hear those guitars coagulate into plaintive roar of a heartbroken god, as you may be used to hearing by now, there's one or two bends in the epic tune's cloud-streaked path that might surprise you.
