After getting thrown about for 12 years, D'Angelo's finally winning the rodeo against that genius of his, as evidenced by him actually playing music in public occasionally. Earlier this month at the Brooklyn Bowl, he and Questlove (hereafter known as the Funk Voltron) jammed out a two-man version of their Bonnaroo set, and you can listen to it below. The 40 minute set covers decades of soul classics, including new material from D'Angelo. Listen below, and check the tracklist over at Bandcamp. If you can name every song they play without peeking, D'Angelo will write a song for you, to be heard in roughly two decades.
