[listen] Iceage, “Coalition”

Vile and vital.

- Jan 8, 2013

As proven by their new single “Coalition,” Iceage haven't lost their knack for writing that rare form of punk that taps the vigor and perceived calamity of youth. But perhaps the scariest thing about songs like “Coalition” is that their rage crosses age distinctions, and taps into something more universal than angst. From the contemptous, gibbered vocals to the tempo-eschewing roar of the guitars, the entire song is played like the entire ship is going down and they're the only ones that know it.

The group's new album You're Nothing is out February 19th via Matador/Escho.
