It’s been confirmed by the higher ups that James Blake has decided to retire after two years of nonstop music, citing that he’s already released a lot of music, guys, and is just too prolific for his own good. The past two years have indeed been prolific, releasing a full-bodied oeuvre at the tender age of 23 that rivals most artist’s outputs over their entire career. So, for the next decade or so he’ll take a much-deserved vacation from the music scene to… wait. No, sorry, James Blake is actually releasing way more music, because this guy is a music monster.
From Facebook, Blake announced he’ll be releasing the first proper record under the Harmonimix moniker this September via reliable label R&S records. Not much is really known about the record other than the fact that it’ll probably include “Confidence Boost,” a track that’s been on the Internet for a while, but is still indicative of his fantastic and inventive production. So, if you were worried if the lack of news on Blake this year was a sign of him slowing down, you were wrong and why did you doubt James Blake?!
