Some are suggesting that Brides could be the next big thing to come out of southern Ontario. If that's to be believed, Queens mustn't be an accurate demonstration of their abilities. Knowing that the EP was recorded live and that they're aiming for some form of filthy avant-garde punk, it's still hard to label these seven compositions as anything but amateurish.

Bright Eyes and Conor Oberst would seem nearly synonymous, but given that Bright Eyes have other members, they're not the same thing, and so Oberst has released his first solo album since 1996's The Soundtrack To My Movie. It's filled with folky indie rock and is very akin to Bright Eyes' I'm Wide Awake It's Morning.
