[netdump] Shout Out Louds releasing new single “Blue Ice” on actual ice record

Yes, THAT ice. The melty kind.

- Nov 27, 2012

With the upcoming 7" release of their new single “Blue Ice” on an actual record made of iceShout Out Louds have become perhaps the first band to bring Metalocalypse-inspired recording technique to life. The band's label sent out 10 “ice boxes” that contained a special record mould, and with a bit of water and a freezer, recipients can create a block of ice containing the band's new single, capable of being played on any turntable that they don't want anymore. The rapidly decaying record manifests the song's themes of “fading devotion,” and will require constant careful attention to stave off the inevitable. Just like my mother-in-law! Fellas?

If you'd like a chance to win a box of your very own, Merge Records are giving out ten of them. Email merge@mergerecords.com with “Blue Ice Giveaway” to enter. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to check if “IceBoxLvvr69@hotmail.com” is taken.
