TV Freaks get cut open in psycho-delic new “Knife” video

A little ditty about a guy's best friend, his trusty pocket knife.

- Jan 14, 2014

Here's something for your three o'clock blues — Hamilton punks TV Freaks just dropped a video for "Knife" off their excellent Two over at Noisey. The song cuts to the chase — in and out in a minute-and-a-half — but that's just enough time to deliver its scuzzy payload. Singer Dave O'Connor spazzes around in front of some psychedelic tattoo flash until a blacked-out no-goodnik waltzes in and cuts down the whole band. Shitty deal, but the Freaks already did their deed.

"Everything in my life has been leading up to being a frontman in a music video," O'Connor tells us, "I just went back to my childhood, mouthing hardcore and punk songs in the mirror." And here he is, all grown up and doing it, really doing it. Dreams do come true. CanCon fun fact: that slasher's actually video director/editor and former Chore drummer David Dunham.

Did I mention how much this song fucking rips? If it scratches your itch, catch the TV Freaks Friday, January 17 at the White House Studio Project in Toronto.

TV Freaks' Two is out now. Read our interview with Hamilton's prodigal punks here.
