video: Starlito & Don Trip bring the story raps in “Caesar and Brutus”

Recommended both for fans of Big K.R.I.T and classics of theatre.

- Oct 7, 2013

I first heard Starlito rapping on Kevin Gates' “MYB”; his verse drained some of that song's energy, but like Gates, his descriptions of violence grew naturally out of loneliness and betrayal, each transgression carved with Lito's gravelled drawl. But his work with Don Trip on the Step Brothers mixtape is unimpeachable. The project's second installment, Step Brothers 2,  drops October 17th, and you can watch its first video, “Caesar and  Brutus,” below. The classic story gets transplanted to the Southern U.S., where the pair's troubled friendship begins to encroach on business, and a crafty girl doesn't help. Recommended both for fans of Big K.R.I.T. and classics of theatre.
