For reasons that are obvious, today is slow for content. Everyone is stunned by the death of MCA, and the thought of posting my inane ramblings about dogs/sandwiches, etc. or about buzzy something or others seems a bit gratuitous, to say the least. But, Seventeen Evergreen’s video for “Burn the Fruit (Pegasus)” is good, so if you need a break from blasting the Beastie Boys, this is worth a look.
The San Francisco duo’s video is a psychedelic excursion into the stars, or at the very least, into a digital realm that simulates what it feels like going into the stars. Singer Caleb Pate’s disembodied face emerges from the black and softly singing at you, as the syncopated drums bounce along with the lead synth.
You can listen to Seventeen Evergreen’s latest album Steady On, Scientist! is out now on Luck Number, and you can stream it in full over at their bandcamp.
