CHARTattack's New Redesign Is Here!

We threatened it, and now we've done it.
Welcome to the latest and greatest version of CHARTattack. Depending on who you talk to it's either "version 5," "version 3.0.1," "version 2.2," "version 'we've finally caught up to 2010!'" or "version 'we're never redesigning ever again'." In our pants, though, we've been calling it "version awesome."
The most obvious change is the redesign of the homepage. Whereas on the old CHARTattack some sections like Photos and Features may have received less prominence, now everything — news, reviews, features, photo sets, whatever — will filter through the homepage in a top-down chronological way. Basically, it just means if you really want to stay on top of things you should check the site multiple times a day.
Another area where we've made improvements is in our institutionalized argument boxes... er... the comment section. We've now opened up the comment sections so that anyone with a Facebook, Twitter, Disqus or CHARTattack ID should be able to join the fray pretty easily. So don't be shy about letting us know that we should stick to enjoying our Britney Spears records because we don't understand rock, or that our journalizmm degrees aren't worth the paper they're printed on, or that Arcade Fire actually are nice people and you know that for a fact because you met them while vacationing in the Hamptons.
So yeah, we've also redeveloped our old "Interact" section. It's now called "Riffs" and it's where you'll be able to find all our staff and guest contributor blog columns. We've also made our photos bigger, which should make all our very complain-y, but very skilled team of photographers quite happy. We've also done a bunch of geek stuff that we don't understand at all but our designer has assured us will make the site faster and more "crazappy," whatever that means.
And in one last note, the "Charts", "Photos" and "Contests" sections on CHARTattack will be temporarily offline for the next week or two as Deep Blue does some transitioning. For those of you who need their Chart fix, we'll still be continuing to tabulate said charts as normal, you just won't be able to see them. So once everything's set we'll be publishing all those temporarily limboed charts and, who knows, maybe Broken Social Scene will lose their #1 spot by then.
We want to know what you think. Please send comments and complaints to feedback@chartattack.com.
