It's always nice to see musicians doing something for others with their music... except maybe for Bono — maybe he needs to do less of that.
Toronto's Golden Dogs are getting the opportunity to help others, as their new song "Permanent Record" was recently selected to be a part of Elijah Wood's Elysium charity compilation, out July 27.
The disc, which was compiled by Woods, will feature exclusive tracks from artists like Sonic Youth, Black Mountain, The Kills, White Denim and Jeremy Jay and new tracks from bands like Balaclavas, Cave, Ty Segall and Stardeath & White Dwarfs.
Elysium will benefit The Art Of Elysium charity, which describes itself as "a non-profit organization founded in 1997 [which] encourages working actors, artists and musicians to voluntarily dedicate their time and talent to children who are battling serious medical conditions."
A presale for the disc is currently ongoing, with the promise that anyone who orders it in advance will receive two tracks for download after ordering.
Coat Of Arms, The Golden Dogs' long-awaited follow-up to 2006's Big Eye Little Eye, is out July 27.
