Polaris Music Prize Short List Announced

The Polaris long list of 40 titles has been cut by a quarter, reducing the list of hopefuls to a short list of 10.
The short list was revealed Tuesday (July 6) afternoon at Toronto's Drake Hotel. CBC Radio 3's Grant Lawrence and Fucked Up's Damian Abraham helped unveil the short list .
The short list was chosen by a jury of nearly 200 Canadian music journalists, broadcasters and bloggers, who selected their five favourite picks from the long list of 40 titles.
Eleven members of that jury will later be selected for a grand jury, which will choose the winner during a gala at Toronto's Masonic Temple on Sept. 20.
Until then, here are the albums that made the 2010 Polaris Music Prize short list:

Karkwa — Les Chemins De Verre
