Kathryn Calder Solo Album To Feature Ladyhawk, Frog Eyes Members

New Pornographers keyboardist Kathryn Calder will release her debut solo album, Are You My Mother?, on Aug. 10 through File Under: Music.

The disc features guest appearances from fellow Pornos Kurt Dahle, Todd Fancey and Neko Case. Members of Ladyhawk and Frog Eyes also contributed to the album, which was recorded at Vancouver's Hive Creative Labs with Colin Stewart (Cave Singers, Pink Mountaintops).

Calder, who is Carl Newman's niece, joined The New Pornographers to replace Case on tour. She later became a permanent member of the band. She's been a member of her own act, Immaculate Machine, since 2003.

Calder hasn't announced any solo dates in support of Are You My Mother? yet, but you can see her with The New Pornographers here:
