Sloan Stomp Peanut Butter On Children's Television Show

We always knew Sloan's Chris Murphy was a bit of a man-child, and now we have proof.

Earlier this week, popular kids' television series Yo Gabba Gabba! brought its fun and games to Toronto as part of their live "There's a party in my City!" North American tour. Rock acts regular make special appearances on the television show.

Sloan's Murphy and Patrick Pentland added themselves to that list during one of the Toronto shows on Tuesday (March 16).

A YouTube clip shows both Murphy and Pentland appearing on stage for "dancey dance time" and showing the audience how to do the "Peanut Butter Stomp" before doing it themselves and then making a hasty exit. Some photos of the appearance are on the band's Twitter, including Murphy playing the Freeze game in the audience.

"Sloan To Do List: Dancey Dance with Yo Gabba Gabba...check," the band tweeted the same day while adding that the show's opening act The Aquabats referred to Rush's "Tom Sawyer" during their song "Pool Party."

Other acts that have appeared on Yo Gabba Gabba! include Chromeo doing "Nice N Clean," The Ting Tings singing "Happy Birthday" and The Shins performing "It's OK To Try Again." The series — which started in 2007 by DJ Lance Rock — has also seen The Killers, Weezer and The Roots appearing or slated to appear in future episodes.

While Yo Gabba Gabba! have had several musical guests, they still have some work to do to match Sesame Street's musical star profile. The longtime PBS show has seen Feist rework "1234," Norah Jones redo "Don't Know Y," Andrea Bocelli's "Lullaby To Elmo" and Ricky Gervais.

Sloan are off the road after releasing B Sides Win: Extras, Bonus Tracks And B-Sides 1992-2008 digitally earlier this year. The band played a handful of dates in the U.S. last month and performed at Atlantic Canada House as part of the Vancouver Winter Olympics.
