Killers Song Titles Apparently Threaten British Train Security

The Killers
Here's a warning for Killers fans: don't drop the prefix because you might find yourself in trouble.

A 25-year-old man in Fareham, England was removed from a South West Trains route at a railway station after jotting down song titles, including "All These Things I've Done" by The Killers. He made the mistake of listing the Las Vegas band simply as "Killers," according to The Independent.

The newspaper reports Tom Shaw was compiling a list of possible tunes his band The Magic Mushrooms would cover at an upcoming show, including Oasis' "Cigarettes And Alcohol" and Franz Ferdinand's "Take Me Out" when he was approached by security staff.

Shaw said he was told he had been behaving suspiciously, according to The Independent. He claims security explained his questioning was due to a surge in arrests in the area lately, including a man who had murdered his wife.

The whole situation left Shaw understandably confused.

"They said I'd been behaving suspiciously. I couldn't understand it. It seemed very strange as it was only a list of songs," he told the Portsmouth News. "We had a gig coming up so I was writing out what we could play. They made me explain song by song."

A spokeswoman for South West Trains confirmed the man was removed from the train and was asked to explain his written list.

"During a routine high-visibility patrol back in early March, they talked with a passenger on the platform at Fareham station," she said, according to The Independent. "The team clarified the nature of the individual's business, were satisfied with his explanation and the man went on his way."

Maybe the staff just weren fans of Brandon Flowers and his penchant for feathery jackets, but after this little misunderstanding, Shaw might not sport any Iron Maiden T-shirts on South West Trains anytime soon, either.
