Holy Fuck Announce New Album On Chatroulette

You had to figure it would only be a matter of time before musicians latched onto Chatroulette to reclaim it from the sketchy perverts currently lurking on there and start using it for sketchy promotion instead.

Holy Fuck used Chatroulette on Friday (March 12) to announce that they'll release Latin, the follow-up to 2007's Polaris Music Prize short listed LP, on May 11.

The album was engineered by member Graham Walsh and produced by Dave Newfeld (Broken Social Scene), Paul Epworth (Bloc Party, Primal Scream), Dave Sardy (Oasis, Black Mountain) and Eli Janney (James Blunt, Satellite Party).

If you've got a strong stomach, first single "Latin America" is streaming on Chatroulette today. Now, in order to find it you'll have to keep hitting "next" until it comes up, which likely means you'll have to put up with seeing tons of dudes jacking off and other similarly perverted things (and scream "Holy fuck!" a couple times). So basically, you'll have to be a Holy Fuck super-fan in order to track this one down.

No track listing for Latin has been announced yet, but this album's release date means this really is going to be the tightest year ever, competition-wise, for the Polaris Music Prize.

Previous short listers like Basia Bulat, Plants And Animals, Broken Social Scene, Caribou, Owen Pallett and The New Pornographers are among those who have already released or will release albums before June 1. Holy Fuck's addition to this list makes this look like even more of an amazing year for the award.
