You might want to head out to beautiful Antigonish, N.S. this summer, since the city's Evolve Music Festival has been named Canada's best summer music shindig in a CBC Radio 3 Searchlight poll.
In February, CBC Radio 3 asked their listeners to suggest their favourite Canadian music festivals. The station then created a long list, which they opened for voting. That was narrowed to a short list of 10 festivals last week.
CBC Radio 3 will broadcast live from the Evolve Music Festival this summer and will give organizers a plaque and trophy to celebrate their win.
The Evolve Music Festival emphasizes sustainable energy, environmentalism and social justice, and has been held in Antigonish since 2000. Last year's lineup included Xavier Rudd, The King Khan & BBQ Show, Shout Out Out Out Out and others.
The 2010 Evolve Music Festival will be held July 23 to 25 in Antigonish. The lineup will be announced shortly.
