Broken Social Scene obsessives: If you've ever wished one of the band's records would be released as several vinyl discs, today is your lucky day.
The Toronto musical collective's Forgiveness Rock Record will be available as a limited-edition, numbered box set containing seven 180-gram 10-inch vinyl records that will also come with a digital download of the record. Only 1,000 copies of the box set will be made, and it's going for $125.
Forgiveness Rock Record will also be available as a standard CD, vinyl and digital release for those of you who are less hardcore. Wusses.
BSS have also revealed the track listing for Forgiveness Rock Record, which contains such typically-titled tunes as "Chase Scene" and "Texico Bitches." Is that a purposeful typo on Texaco, guys?
In the meantime, Broken Social Scene have been added to the lineup for this year's Pitchfork Music Festival, which takes place July 16 to 18 at Chicago's Union Park. BSS will play on Friday along with Modest Mouse and El-P. This year's Pitchfork Music Festival also includes sets from LCD Soundsystem, Panda Bear, Pavement, St. Vincent, Lightning Bolt and others.
