The Bonnaroo Music And Arts Festival is known for attracting the equivalent of modern day hippies, what with the jammier acts that have traditionally played the four-day, annual shindig in Manchester, Tenn. So it's only appropriate the folks behind Bonnaroo have released a free compilation to promote climate change awareness.
Dave Matthews Band, Wilco, Pearl Jam, Death Cab For Cutie, Phish and other Bonnaroo alumni are among those who appear on Best Of Bonnaroo, which can be downloaded for free here.
There's a bit of a catch, though. To get the disc, you have to send an email through the Music For Action website, asking your senators to endorse the new climate change bill that was recently approved by the United States House Of Representatives. If it passes the Senate, U.S. president Barack Obama must then approve it it for it to become law.
Basically, in case you're wondering... if you're outside the United States, you can't download this for free. It won't recognize your postal code. Sorry?
The disc has been put together in cooperation with HeadCount, which uses music to get youth more aware and involved in politics, and the NRDC Action Fund, which works to promote green legislation and policies in the United States.
This year's Bonnaroo Music And Arts Festival will be held June 10 to 13. It features performances from Kings Of Leon, Jay-Z, Dave Matthews Band, Stevie Wonder, The Flaming Lips and others.
Here are the artists and songs on Best Of Bonnaroo:
