Pickle Bests Nickelback In Facebook Popularity Contest

John Lennon once said The Beatles were more popular than Jesus. Well, now a pickle is more popular than Nickelback... on Facebook, at least.

The "Can This Pickle Get More Fans Than Nickleback (sic)?" Facebook page currently has about 1,450,000 fans, almost 50,000 more than Nickelback.

There are rumours Chad Kroeger is trying to shut down the page, however. A Facebook user posted a link to a screencap of a Facebook message from a user whose name happens to be Chad Kroeger.

"your page will be closed in 2 weeks," Kroeger says to the page's creator, Coral Anne.

"I still whooped your ass, Chad!" she replies.

It's not clear whether the user is the real Kroeger or an angry Nickelback fan posing as him.

We're kind of thrown off that Kroeger would perhaps want this page taken down. After all, he's proven over and over that he loves pickles things to do with pickles. Heck, he even likes his own pickle. We can understand why the doctored picture someone posted of a pickle fisting him might bother him a bit, but really, otherwise, what does he have against pickles? They're quite tasty.
