John Frusciante's New Project To Feature Duran Duran, Devo Members

Former Red Hot Chili Peppers' guitarist John Frusciante has created a new band dubbed Swahili Blonde, who will release their Man Meat debut album this summer.
The group comprises Frusciante and former Weave! percussionist Nicole Turley. Man Meat will also include guest appearances from Duran Duran's John Taylor, The Like's Alina Meyer along with her father Alan Meyer of Devo.
No track list has been announced, but "Tigress Ritual" will appear on Man Meat. You can hear four other songs on Swahili Blonde's MySpace page.
Man Meat will be released digitally, on CD and LP this summer on Los Angeles indie label Manimal. The group will perform in and around the Los Angeles area this spring, but there's no word whether a more extensive tour is in the works.
Swahili Blonde issued digital single "Elixor Fixor" on iTunes earlier this year.
In related news, Red Hot Chilli Peppers are reportedly still working on their new studio album, the band's first with new guitarist Josh Klinghoffer. Klinghoffer was officially confirmed as the band's full-time guitarist by drummer Chad Smith earlier this month after Frusciante left the band.
