Animal Collective Holding "Psychedelic" Art Show At Guggenheim Museum

Animal Collective
On March 4, New York City's Guggenheim Museum will be invaded by hipsters.

That's because Animal Collective are holding a "psychedelic" art show called Transverse Temporal Gyrus there to celebrate the museum's 50th anniversary.

NME.com reports the New York indie rock quartet recorded music exclusively for the show, which they say will "create an environment where people could take some time to listen to other kinds of sounds and get away from those familiar sounds of the city."

Basically, we all know this is going to involve swirly, tie-dye-esque videos and images, music that sounds like it was made under water and inaudible, alien-like vocals. And, inevitably, skinny jeans.

Guggenheim Museum members can get tickets to the event now through the art museum's website, while non-members can buy them on Friday (Feb. 19).

Animal Collective released an experimental film called ODDSAC in January. It's not known whether it will be screened at the Guggenheim event.

You can see the trailer for ODDSAC here.
