Metric, Alexisonfire, Joel Plaskett, Phoenix Nominated For Independent Music Awards

Metric and Alexisonfire lead the nominees for this year's Independent Music Awards.

This year's nominees also include Joel Plaskett, Arkells, Phoenix and pop songster Danny Fernandes.

The awards will be handed out March 13 at Toronto's Fairmont Royal York Hotel as part of Canadian Music Week. Constantines, Great Lake Swimmers, Plants And Animals, The Rural Alberta Advantage and Desperate Union will perform at the event, which starts at 8 p.m. ET that day.

Tickets are on sale now for $20 through Ticketmaster, indies.ca, the CMW website and Toronto record stores Rotate This and Soundscapes.
