Musical Martyr Fails In Glorious Quest To Bomb 30 Seconds To Mars

30 Seconds To Mars
People may hate Jared Leto and his microphone-chucking general douchebaggish ways, but we're willing to bet most of those people probably don't want to blow him up. Most people.

A man caused a 30 Seconds To Mars event to be cancelled on Thursday (Feb. 5) night because he allegedly said he had explosives in a box.

TMZ reports 30 Seconds To Mars were screening their new documentary at West Hollywood's The Hive on Thursday, when a man rushed the doors of the building holding a package, yelled at Leto and said "something about having explosives." Other news organizations report he dropped it at Leto's feet.

Leto then used his best counter-terrorism skills and thwarted the would-be-bomber, dragging him into another room until police came to arrest him, according to World Entertainment News.

TMZ reports police then evacuated the building and the streets near The Hive, checking his car to ensure nothing dangerous was in it. Leto updated his Twitter later in the night, revealing a full bomb squad and police dogs had arrived on the scene. They also opened the box and discovered it contained... candy and a blender.

You can see video of Leto explaining what happened below:

The screening has been rescheduled to Friday (Feb. 5) evening.

Frankly, this all reminds us of the "bomb" episode on The Sarah Silverman Program. You know, the one where Steve farts in Officer Jay's car, tells Brian he left a "bomb" there and they're both later dragged in by the National Security Agency and questioned:
