The Virginia chief medical examiner's office has ruled that Metallica fan Morgan Harrington's death was a homicide.
There's no information about how Harrington died yet. The Office Of The Chief Medical Examiner did determine, however, that she didn't wander off late at night in Charlottesville, Va. and die accidentally from exposure due to cold weather, according to The Roanoke Times.
The newspaper reports it could take weeks before forensic experts figure out how Harrington died because her body had already been decomposing for three months when it was found.
The Virginia Tech education major's skeletal remains were discovered late last month in a hayfield just south of Charlottesville. She disappeared after leaving a Metallica concert in Charlottesville on Oct. 17 to go to the bathroom and was denied re-entry. Her purse and cell phone were found in the parking lot the following day.
A memorial will be held for Harrington at 3:30 p.m. on Friday (Feb. 5) in Roanoke, Va.
Metallica will play these shows:
