Said The Whale Acoustic EP Coming

Said The Whale are punny. No, really: They plan to release a five-song acoustic EP called Bear Bones on Feb. 16 through iTunes.
Mike Renaud, Vancouver band's manager, says the mini-album features an acoustic version of "Emerald Lake, AB" — which won a 2009 "most Canadian song" CBC Radio 3 Bucky Award — along with four other tunes.
Said The Whale also released a free EP over Christmas dubbed the West Coast Christmas EP, which you can still download from their website in exchange for your email address.
Said The Whale are also now taking preorders for vinyl versions of their Islands Disappear sophomore album. The disc came out last year, but the band have just decided to release it on 12-inch vinyl sometime in the future. You can preorder it through Said The Whale's website.
You can see singers/guitarists Ben Worcester and Tyler Bancroft, keyboardist Jaycelyn Brown, bassist Peter Carruthers and drummer Spencer Schoening on Feb. 19 at Vancouver's Robson Square.
They'll also play next day at Surrey, B.C.'s Surrey House Stage with Mother Mother and Hey Ocean! as part of the 2010 Cultural Olympiad celebrating the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
Here are the songs on Bear Bones:
"Pretty City"
"Strong Swimmers"
"A Song For Me"
"Fish And Stars"
"Emerald Lake, AB"
