Slayer/Megadeth Canadian Tour Back On

Veteran thrash bands Megadeth and Slayer have rescheduled their joint American Carnage North American tour.

The jaunt now kicks off in Quebec City on July 23. The bands will then hit Europe for a string of festival shows before continuing onto the American leg of the Carnage tour. Testament will remain special guests for the tour.

The original tour was postponed so Slayer lead vocalist Tom Araya could have back surgery. Fans will be happy to hear the surgery went well and Araya is feeling better than ever.

"The doctors said that Tom's surgery went very smoothly and was a resounding success," says manager Rick Sales. "He's home now, doing really well, and he said the numbness in his fingers had already diminished considerably."

Megadeth will also embark on their own tour to commemorate the 20th anniversary of their 1990 release Rust In Peace in March. They'll play the album in its entirety.
