K-OS has pulled a Billy Corgan: he says he is going to stop releasing albums.
The rapper born Kevin Brereton told MuchMusic that after 10 years of spending time in the studio he wants to "stay immediate" instead.
"I'm not going to make any more albums," he said on Thursday (Jan. 28), according to a press release. "I think we're just going to drop singles for a couple years and see what happens. If those singles are successful, maybe put out a compilation of the ones that people like and call it an album, like what Elvis and The Beatles did."
The MC went on to say that Lil Wayne and Drake, who put more effort into releasing mixtapes or singles than proper albums, are evidence "you don't have to make an album" if you're a musician anymore.
"So the next thing I do is probably a single a month with a video, then another single with a video to keep it current," he said.
K-OS has released four studio albums over his career, and his most recent disc is last year's Yes!.

March 2 New York, NY @ Le Poisson Rouge
March 4 Los Angeles, CA @ The Roxy Theatre
March 11 Toronto, ON @ The Opera House (Canadian Music Week)
