Liam Gallagher's Album Out In July
Liam Gallagher says his first post-Oasis album with his new band will be released this July, since they've already written eight songs for it.
The band includes former Oasis multi-instrumentalists Andy Bell and "Gem" Archer.
Gallagher told Britain's XFM radio station the band should head into the studio with a producer in April to record three songs, and if it goes well they'll cut an entire album. He also said he was disappointed Oasis didn't release more material.
"Seven albums for Oasis is not good, I don't think," he said. "We've been going 18 years, 16 years or whatever and all we've done is seven albums. [Former Stone Roses frontman] Ian Brown's on his seventh solo album. I just think it's poor, really.
"I'm not going to beat myself up about it, I think we should have made better, bigger albums. Or more albums. Having like four or five years off is just no good. Obviously Noel [Gallagher] wanted a bit of time off and we don't. The band split in August — we was in the studio in November 'cos we're mad for it."
Gallagher's post-Oasis project still doesn't have a name.
Oasis imploded last August when Gallagher and his brother, singer/guitarist and main songwriter Noel Gallagher, had an argument backstage before a show in Paris, France, that saw Noel Gallagher quit the band.
Noel Gallagher has repeatedly said he wants to release a solo album.
