Fucked Up Becoming More Popular Than Porn?

Fucked Up claim to have discovered that if you Google "fucked" it's becoming increasingly more likely you'll end up on their blog than a porn site.

In a post written on Monday (Jan. 25), the band explain all started when they put a "flag counter" sidebar on their blog so they could see where their readers were coming from.

They discovered people from Burma, Bhutan, Guam and Libya were reading the blog. Still curious about this, they used their their Feedjit Live Traffic Feed application to find out how people were coming to their blog.

For example, Americans arriving from Google by searching for "Looking For Gold" were clearly looking for information about the band, as were people who arrived from a Croatian music website who searched for the same thing.

But they recently discovered plenty of people — like users from Copiapa, Chile, and Lahore, Pakistan who both arrived at their blog after looking for "fucked" — are probably coming there because they're looking for porn.

Fucked Up claim back when they started, you would have had a hard time searching for their band name without getting tons of porn. Nowadays, plenty of information on Fucked Up shows up when you Google the band's moniker, and porn takes a while to register on a Google search for the term. When you search for "Fucked," a lot of porn still comes up, but here's the hilarious thing:

"According to google, WE have a greater claim to 'Fucked' than porn does," the band wrote. "And the internet is like 80% porn or whatever the stat is? Pretty funny. It's hard to imagine now how people can still get uptight about our name. We're doing more to redefine and even clean up language by USING swear words than those types of people are by getting upset about it. Not that it's even an issue, but it's still funny."

Ladies and gentlemen, not only is Fucked Up's name changing the way we use the English language (ie: making "fuck" and "fucked" less taboo words to use), but it's changing the internet itself.
