Wilco have joined the numerous artists that are raising money to help support Haitian earthquake relief.
The band have made free downloads of live shows recorded in Brooklyn, N.Y. and London, England available through their website. In exchange, Wilco are asking their fans to donate at least $15 to Doctors Without Borders and Oxfam to help with the work they're doing in Haiti.
Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder has recorded a cover of Bruce Springsteen's "My City Of Ruins," which is available for download through Pearl Jam's website.
The track was recorded at the Kennedy Center Honors, which recognized Springsteen's contributions to American culture and featured performances from Vedder, Melissa Etheridge, Sting and John Mellencamp. Vedder's version features a gospel choir and proceeds from the song will go to Justice Haiti Relief and Artists For Peace.
Toronto radio station 102.1 The Edge has announced a special concert in support of Haitian relief, which will take place at the Sound Academy on Feb. 2.
Toronto Plays For Haiti features performances from Die Mannequin, IllScarlett, Maestro Fresh Wes, Choclair, The Salads, The Trews, Moneen and The Junction. Donovan Bailey, Eric Lindros, former CFL quarterback Damon Allen, Ray Fontaine and the Toronto Argonauts' Obed Cetoute will also make appearances.
Admission is pay-what-you-can and all proceeds will go to UNICEF's work in Haiti.
