AC/DC Supply Soundtrack For Iron Man 2

AC/DC
Hard rock legends AC/DC will be the soundtrack for the forthcoming motion picture Iron Man 2.

AC/DC: Iron Man 2 will come out April 19 and feature 15 tracks from 10 of the band's studio albums from 1976 up to 2008's Black Ice. No new or previously unreleased material will be on the record, due out through Columbia Records.

Pre-orders for the deluxe version of the record begin Tuesday (Jan. 26) through Amazon. They include CD/DVD and two-LP editions. A Walmart.com pre-order for the regular version also begins Tuesday.

A video was released earlier today for "Shoot To Thrill" off the upcoming record. The video was filmed last month when the band performed in Buenos Aires, Argentina during their Black Ice World Tour.

Iron Man 2 will be released on May 7 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Mickey Rourke, Samuel L. Jackson and Scarlett Johansson. The film is the sequel to the 2008 flick which grossed close to $600 million U.S. (about $636 million Canadian) worldwide.

In related news, AC/DC has been confirmed as a headliner for the first night at Britain's Download Festival set for Donington, England's Donington Park on June 11. Although nothing has been announced, there is speculation the band could perform the Black In Black album in entirety during the set.

AC/DC — who supplied songs for the Stephen King film Maximum Overdrive, which appeared on 1986's Who Made Who album — will play a handful of North American dates in April before heading to Europe for additional dates. The band begin a handful of dates in Australia and New Zealand later this week.
