Timbaland Hearts Nickelback

Sometimes I sit alone at night and ponder things, like how Nickelback sold more than any other band last decade and say to myself, "Who are these people who buy these records?"

I genuinely wonder these things because I don't personally have any friends who actually like Nickelback. Nickelback fandom genuinely mystifies me, just like how sign language interpreters confuse Chad Kroeger.

Well, it turns out Timbaland (along with Coldplay's Chris Martin) is one of these Nickelback-loving people that so fascinate me.

Kroeger appears on Timbaland's "Tomorrow In A Bottle," which appears on the rapper and producer's recently released Shock Value II. Timbaland told the Canadian Press that he personally sought Kroeger out to appear on the track and the rocker instantly said yes.

"I just love Nickelback's music," he said. "That's why I reached out to Chad."

Timbaland didn't elaborate and I kind of wish he did and didn't at once.

The reason I'm fascinated and confused is because I just don't understand it: You can never get a clear-cut reason from a Nickelback fan about why they actually like the band. I'm left pulling at my hair, my mind racing with questions of "But WHY?" whenever someone mentions their love for musical recycling.

I guess it will just have to remain a mystery to me.
