Barenaked Ladies, Joel Plaskett Touring Together

Barenaked Ladies

The Barenaked Ladies are famous for a song called "If I Had $1,000,000." Joel Plaskett has a song called "Wishful Thinking." Coincidence? We think not.

Plaskett will open for the Barenaked Ladies on an upcoming Canadian tour that's slated to take place throughout April and on the first day of May. The Barenaked Ladies will be supporting their upcoming All In Good Time album, which is out March 23. Plaskett, of course, is supporting his Polaris Music Prize short-listed Three.

Tickets go on sale Jan. 26 to members of the Barenaked Ladies' new Ladies Room fan club and will be available to the public through Ticketmaster and Live Nation three days later. Every ticket comes with a download of All In Good Time that'll be available the day the album comes out, along with an exclusive, limited-edition bonus track.

The Barenaked Ladies will also play a free show at Toronto's Nathan Phillips Square on Feb. 20 as part of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games celebrations. There's a nice slap in the face to that infamous 1991 New Year's Eve concert controversy.

In the meantime, former Barenaked Ladies singer/guitarist Steven Page has revealed the track listing to his A Singer Must Die album that features Toronto's Art Of Time Ensemble.

The disc includes covers of songs by Rufus Wainwright, Elvis Costello, Leonard Cohen, Radiohead, The Magnetic Fields, The Weakerthans and The Mountain Goats, among others. It's out Feb. 16 through Pheromone Recordings.
